Sanibel Surfside 114

Condo was beachfront and steps from the sand and ocean. Condo was clean, basically brand new and exactly as described. Checking pieces was very easy. Owners were professional, responsive and very helpful when asking questions.

The one thing that was very annoying was the vents in both bathrooms were extremely nosy (like a jet airplane) The few times we turned on the light in the shower area the vent would squeal.

Beautiful well-decorated condo directly facing the ocean. Our only complaint was the mattresses - very hard, creaked loudly with movement, and uncomfortable. The building is in a great location but is older and the grounds consist of mostly paved driveway, rather than grass. The pool faces the driveway.

Overall our family of five had a great vacation. Despite air-conditioning problems on the first day, condo being way too cluttered with decorations and master bedroom mattress being as hard as a rock, we enjoyed our weeks vacation.

Great beachfront condo with everything needed! Slept every night with the screened in patio and bedroom slides open. Very large patio was great for relaxing in shade. Also nice to have beach amenities for use including chairs, umbrella, and beach toys. Rented bikes and paddle boards for the week through SBL. They were in great condition and SBL delivered and picked up. Highly recommend staying here and definitely will be back!

We stayed for 1 week and had a wonderful time. The view and easy beach access were hard to beat. The condo is nicely furnished and updated. It would be better if the bathrooms had venting but that probably wasn't done back when the unit was built.

Great location right on the beach. Amenities at community were nice and worked great for kids. Definitely worth renting a bike just to avoid the traffic on the island, which gets high on Perriwinkle

From the moment we walked into our condo we were thrilled. It was beautiful, clean and fully stocked. And the view from the huge balcony was more than we could have dreamed of. We insisted on three things, two bathrooms , a pool and a beach view. We got it all!! The access to the beach and pool was perfect. It was so hard to leave and hope to come back soon.

We rented 3 condos. 114 was ocean view but not nearly as nice as 216 or 226. The condo has a good view. It is directly in front of the elevator and pool. Conveniently located. The kitchen is very small and the condo is out dated. SBL Vacations were great to work with and went over and above.

Loved the gulf view and immediate access to the beach. Convenient location providing easy access to stores, shopping and attractions. A comfortable living space but the mattress in the master bedroom could be better.

Mattresses are a bit tricky, as you know it's just about personal preference. I apologize that you were uncomfortable. The selling point of this condo is the location! Loved the complex and the quietness of the unit.

Pros:
Beautiful gulf views from the living area and master bedroom.
Condo is updated and very comfortable.
Beach and pool were very accessible and rarely full.
Loved the separate 1st floor closet for beach stuff.

Cons:
Tile floor was filthy when we arrived (although the rest of the condo was spotless). Our feet were black from the dirt on the floor!
Beach chairs are very old and rusty. Definitely could use new ones.
Cooler was a cheap styrofoam one without a handle. We purchased a cooler bag from Jerry’s.
The lint trap in the dryer is broken with sharp edges. I saw this mentioned in a previous review, and it has not been addressed.

Great location and beautiful view from the balcony. This condo was very clean but we would suggest an update to the bedding, the pillows and coverlets which were somewhat worn and stained in places. We went out and purchased some blankets to use for the beds during our stay. The patio furniture was also weather stained and thoroughly cleaned by management before we arrived but unfortunately did not dry out in time for us to use it and the dryer needs a new lint trap....the screen is mostly out so the lint collects on your wet clothes. Small fixes would make a big improvement on this property for renters. The complex itself is very nice, clean and centrally located with adequate parking and great access to the beach.

Even though we were very disappointed with the Red Tide and tons of dead fish and the worst smell I have ever encountered we managed to still enjoy the island and restaurants. The pool came in very handy especially for our Grandkids.

Fabulous beach and ocean experience. The water is pretty calm and the shelling is great!
The condo could use some updating such as a new king mattress and new bed linens but otherwise was all we needed for a great vacation! We will definitely be back!

The afterhours quest check-in needs improvement. We found the office and the lockbox. However, the lighting was so poor that I could not even see the numbers on the lock. Thank goodness my phone had enough battery life left to use a light app. After some struggles with how to use the lock itself we got it. Nothing like fumbling around in the dark in a strange place at 10:30pm and unable to contact anyone at the agency.

I would also recommend that there be a maintenance person on the property for emergencies. Just a thought.

Even if our office is closed, phone calls roll over to our owner's cell phone, so someone is always accessible to you. There is also someone who can come help with any maintenance issues after hours. Amazing views, beautifully decorated, clean and location, location, location! Perfect distance to the beach especially for my elderly mother. Would definitely rent again.

Only one suggestion; please leave the basics of sugar, salt and pepper for future renters. I understand humidity can get to these items over time but sealed containers work well. We did purchase ourselves and leave for the next renters.

Overall, we had a great time. The furnishings were comfortable and the condo was well-stocked and clean. The balcony rocking chairs were awesome and we spent many hours people watching in comfort. Things I would change are hand-held shower heads that allow you to reduce water flow without changing the temperature. Very nice ones can be bought for $40-$60. please clean the rugs or get rid of them entirely, and I would put quiet caps or felt pads under the dining chairs to be considerate of the neighbors below. Check in was easy as was checkout. The only major problem was the drain was stopped up Sunday morning when I went to take a shower, so I got my needle nose pliers from the car tool kit and pulled out a massive wad of hair from the drain, gross. When that helped but didn't truly fix the problem, I used the toilet plunger over the drain and gobs of icky stuff back washed up and then back down clearing the clog. I would strongly suggest a visit from roto-rooter on a regular basis or make the maids aware to clean the shower/bathtub drains once a month or so. The whole complex was tidy and well-maintained and an easy walk to the beach. It was super nice to have the below condo storage for beach items so they didn't have to be take upstairs. The big disappointment wasn't the condo, but the quality of shells at the beaches that all the hype and adverts extol. I have better ones at my beach and I can walk to see them. I guess one needs a hurricane to send in the big guys, because everything we saw from Sanibel to Captiva was small (1"-3") and uninspiring. Plus, we were too far either way on the island to catch a sunrise or sunset which was a bummer. Next time I will stay closer to Tarpon or Rabbit Rd and watch the sunset.

This property is amazing. It has a screened in porch so you sit out and enjoy the beautiful view. The condo has everything you will need in it. This property is steps to the beach. It was truly amazing.

We originally had booked Dec. 2 - 9, 2017.But I came down with some crud 2 days before we were leaving and had to cancel that week. The ladies were so nice at Sanibel Vacations, LLC & helped when my daughter called to see what we could do (I had lost my voice). Luckily the next week was available & they changed our reservation to then & the rest is history! With all that being said, this was our first stay on Sanibel. I couldn't have found a more perfect condo! From the moment we walked in we knew we'd have a wonderful week! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. The condo was very clean, had everything we needed including a Keurig & the location was perfect! The view was the best & we got to hear the waves every night. We loved just sitting out on the lanai in those wonderful rocking lounge chairs and watching the sunrise and sunset every day. Sure could get used to this! I rented a recumbent bike and my husband uses a scooter and we "booted" as we called it, over quite a bit of the island. One morning we rode over to the lighthouse, "that's a hike" and stopped at the Lighthouse Cafe for breakfast. What a wonderful way to see the island instead of through a car window! We also loved seeing all the Christmas lights when we'd drive to dinner. We ate at Cips, Doc Ford's, Pecking Order, The Sandbar and Sweet Melissa's during the week. All were excellent! Will definitely try to come back again. Thank you again for sharing your "little piece of paradise" with us!

We have stayed in this complex before and love the low key feel and location. This condo was absolutely lovely. The view was incredible. Chairs, umbrella and beach were there.Management was responsive and loved the Sanibel Vacations app that put us on to restaurants. Nice touch was e- mail forThanksgiving day openings. We did not want to leave. I can't think of a better place to stay for our needs on Sanibel. Needs a salt and pepper shaker.
