Island Getaway

A great house! Everything you need in the kitchen, great Master shower, comfortable bed and loving room and designed to be dog-friendly. On a busy road but the house is quiet. Beach a short walk away. Management company ver responsive. We had a wonderful stay as a couple.

We loved our stay at this property. It is comfortable, private, well-equipped and a quick walk to the beach, while also easy access to restaurants and other activities. Not only were our dogs allowed, they were welcomed. The only reason we gave the location 4 stars instead of 5 is there’s a steady flow of cars 2-3 hours a day. However, there is a peaceful deck facing the backyard to enjoy during that time and the road is quiet the rest of the day and at night. In truth, we enjoyed watching the late afternoon beach traffic, and the gate on the front deck allowed our dogs to hang with us too.

We are grateful for a fantastic stay!

We had a great stay. The proximity to the beach (4 min walk) made this stay special. Also, the SBL staff was super considerate. We got early checkin and late checkout! Ann brought us a toaster oven upon request! And when we locked ourselves out, they happily gave us another key�� We came from Beaufort SC.

The good: quick walk to the beach, comfortable beds, 2 decks—1 always shaded and the other sunny. The upstairs bath shower is lovely.
The okay: kitchen was adequate but no ice maker or disposal
The annoying: no screens in the large sliding doors nor in the side or back door, the furniture in the living room is uncomfortable—it looks great but is low so getting up is a challenge & the backs are not attached to the base. There are 2 parsons chairs but those are t designed for relaxing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 months here. Beautiful views and an easy walk to the beach. The house was clean and very comfortable.
My only issues were the front deck and sliding door need replaced. It would also be nice to have a screen door out to the front deck. The plate in the microwave doesn’t turn. Smoke detector in the downstairs bedroom was broke. Also it needs some major tree/landscaping work done. I almost got hit on the head from a falling coconut. Every time you walk in or out of the house you walk right under a huge palm tree that is LOADED with both green and brown coconuts.

Renting from SBL was a great exerience. The property managers were there to greet us and answer any questions and were available by phone any time. I would recommend SBL Vacations.

The home was very well equipped. The location was convenient to restaurants and shops--until the end of the day when Periwinkle becomes congested and East Gulf becomes the alternate routefor local traffic. (It was hard to cross the road with the steady stream of traffic.) The nearest beach was within a nice walking distance along the bike path, although it would have been hard for families with young children to tote their supplies by foot. Although we did not need to sleep 6, it would have been very tight for 6 adults. The beds in the downstairs bedroom were more suitable for children than tall adults. The upstairs master suite was spacious; had a tv and a king size bed. The home was clean, with lots of light, and definitely dog friendly. The agency assisting us was very responsive. We appreciated their help in getting us settled in. It was a good getaway from the winter storms up north.
